DK Shivakumar to Take Oath as 25th Karnataka Chief Minister on June 3

BENGALURU — DK Shivakumar is scheduled to take the oath of office as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka on June 3, officially assuming office to lead the state government. The swearing-in ceremony is set to take place at 3:30 p.m. at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The upcoming transition of power follows years of political manoeuvring and months of an intense power tussle between Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah. With the upcoming oath-taking ceremony, Shivakumar is set to realise his long-cherished dream of becoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
According to party functionaries, the date for the swearing-in ceremony was finalised after consultations with Shivakumar's personal astrologer, Bellur Dwarakanath. Shivakumar, who is described as a firm believer in astrology, was advised to take his official oath during an auspicious period that is scheduled to begin around 4:05 p.m. on June 3.
The timing of the event is also expected to facilitate the attendance of high-profile national political figures. Among those expected to be present at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan are Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary.
With the ceremony scheduled for June 3, Shivakumar will officially assume office as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka, concluding the leadership contest and beginning his tenure at the head of the state government.
