New to Bengaluru? Read this before you complain about the traffic
The weather flex, the neighbourhoods, the brewery thing, and why everyone's always stuck in traffic.
Bengaluru is the city everyone moves to and then refuses to leave, traffic and all. Here's the orientation.
The one real flex: the weather
Bengaluru sits on a plateau, so it's mild basically year-round. Cool mornings, pleasant evenings, the kind of weather other Indian cities are openly jealous of. You'll stop needing the AC and start needing a light jacket at night.
Where to be
Indiranagar and Koramangala are the going-out, eating-out, startup-energy zones. Whitefield and Electronic City are the big tech belts (and the traffic legends). Jayanagar and Malleshwaram are the leafy, old-Bangalore, filter-coffee neighbourhoods.
Getting around
The Namma Metro is expanding fast and is your best friend across the centre. Outside it, budget serious time for traffic, it's not a meme, it's a lifestyle. Auto and cab apps work everywhere.
The culture
This is India's craft-beer capital and its startup capital, so a lot of life happens over a pint or a pitch. It's also weirdly green, with two of the best urban parks in the country.
