Yelahanka School to Host India's First IronKids Triathlon on August 9

Bengaluru’s northern suburb of Yelahanka is set to host India’s first-ever IronKids Triathlon on August 9, 2026, at the Canadian International School campus. The non-competitive multisport event, organized in partnership with the globally celebrated Ironman legacy, is designed exclusively for young athletes aged between 6 and 16 years to promote youth fitness and endurance in the region.
The upcoming event marks the country's very first triathlon experience designed specifically for a younger demographic. Organizers hope the initiative will usher in a new era of youth fitness and multisport competition across the local community, helping children build confidence in a supportive setting.
The triathlon will be a non-competitive event, allowing participants to focus on personal achievement rather than placement. It features three distinct athletic segments to accommodate different interests and skill levels: a traditional triathlon, an aquathlon, and run-only segments.
For the young athletes who are seeking a classic multisport experience, the triathlon segment will combine swimming, cycling, and running into one continuous event. This continuous format offers participants a unique opportunity to build their physical endurance and practice critical transition skills between the sports.
To ensure the event remains inclusive while still providing an appropriate challenge for different age groups, the triathlon has been structured into three distinct age-based categories. These progressive categories cover swimming, cycling, and running, allowing children to develop their abilities in an inspiring environment where sport and community come together.
Shweta Sastri, the Managing Director of the Canadian International School, expressed excitement about hosting the historic event. Sastri confirmed that the entire triathlon and its associated events will take place within the school's campus grounds in Yelahanka.
According to Sastri, the institution is fully prepared to support the event from start to finish. She stated that the school will provide all of the necessary infrastructure required for both the pre-event preparation activities and the actual race-day experiences for the young competitors.
