Woman Dragged by Chain Snatchers Near Kadugodi Bridge Dies in Bengaluru

A 35-year-old woman who sustained critical injuries after being dragged by two-wheeler-borne chain snatchers near the Kadugodi-Bisanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru has died while undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Bellandur, police said.

The victim has been identified as Radhamma, a resident of Thirumanahalli village located near Tayalur in Mulbagal taluk. According to police officials, she had travelled to Bengaluru on August 15 and had been staying in the Kundalahalli area.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning when Radhamma was near the Kadugodi-Bisanahalli Bridge. Police said two men travelling on a two-wheeler approached her and attempted to snatch her 60-gram gold mangalsutra.

When Radhamma fought back and resisted the robbery attempt, the assailants allegedly dragged her along the road for approximately 30 metres before fleeing the spot.

Radhamma suffered serious injuries during the assault and was immediately shifted to a hospital in Bellandur for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday evening.

The Kadugodi police have registered a case in connection with the attack and death. Investigating officers are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby cameras to track down and arrest the two unidentified accused.
