Two-Year-Old Boy Critical After Falling from Balcony in Chikka Adugodi

A two-year-old boy is battling for his life in an intensive care unit after falling from the balcony of a two-storey residential building in Chikka Adugodi, southeast Bengaluru, on Saturday morning.

The incident took place around 11 am under the jurisdiction of the Madiwala police station. According to police officials, the child was playing inside the home when he was momentarily left unattended by his parents. He managed to climb over the grill enclosing the balcony and fell directly onto the road below.

The toddler sustained serious injuries to his head and other parts of his body upon impact. Two women passing by on a scooter and a neighbour who witnessed the fall immediately rushed to his assistance. Joined by other local residents and passersby, they quickly transported the injured child to a nearby hospital.

Police said the boy remains in critical condition in the ICU. Officials stated that no criminal case has been registered in connection with the incident, terming it an unfortunate accident where the parents did not anticipate the toddler climbing the grill.

The fall was captured on a nearby CCTV camera, and the footage was later circulated on social media platforms.
