Three Men Arrested in Bengaluru for Robbing Delivery Executive of Rs 4,000

The Subramanyapura police have arrested three men for allegedly robbing Rs 4,000 in cash from a grocery delivery executive near Gubbalala Main Road on August 27. Following the arrests, police announced that they have solved five additional robbery cases registered across south Bengaluru, including Jayanagar.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sheikh Mawz, 25, an employee at an internet service provider, and Syed Afreedulla, 21, a car mechanic, both originally from Kolar and currently residing in Bengaluru. The third accused is Mohammed Sadiq, 21, a street vendor residing in Talaghattapura.

According to police officials, the incident occurred at around 1:30 am on August 27 when the delivery executive was returning to his shop after completing an order. Near Gubbalala Main Road, three men riding a scooter intercepted his vehicle. The trio allegedly threatened him with a weapon before fleeing with Rs 4,000 in cash.

Following a formal complaint, a robbery case was registered at the Subramanyapura police station. Investigators reviewed CCTV footage from nearby areas and gathered technical evidence to track down the suspects, arresting all three the following day.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime. Police officers recovered a scooter, a knife, Rs 1,000 in cash, and four mobile phones used or obtained during the offences, with the total value of the seized items estimated at around Rs 1.5 lakh.

Investigators stated that the trio has been linked to five other robbery cases registered across multiple police stations in the city, including Jayanagar, Subramanyapura, Konanakunte, Kumaraswamy Layout, and Talaghattapura.
