Three Armed Men Rob Four Migrant Workers Near Electronics City

Three unidentified armed men assaulted and robbed four migrant workers from West Bengal near Bettadasanapura in Bengaluru's Electronics City on Sunday, June 28. The victims were threatened at knifepoint and forced to transfer money from a digital wallet, in addition to losing cash and mobile phones.
The incident occurred around 6:30 PM when the victims—identified as Sabir Shaik, 20, Yunus, 25, Irfan Shaik, 19, and Owaidur Islam Laskar, 18—were sitting near Bettadasanapura after returning from work. The four men have been living in Bengaluru for the past eight months and work under a local contractor.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered on June 29, the complainant, Sabir Shaik, was speaking on his mobile phone when three unidentified men approached them. The suspects claimed that Shaik's friends had called them. When Shaik denied knowing the men, they demanded to see photographs of his friends on his phone.
After looking at the photographs, the suspects snatched Shaik's phone and walked towards the rear of a nearby temple. Shaik and his friends followed them to demand the return of the phone.
At this point, the three men allegedly threatened the group with a knife, a wooden club, and an iron rod. They assaulted two of the workers and demanded money.
The suspects fled the scene with Rs 10,000 in cash, four mobile phones, and the victims' SIM cards. Before fleeing, they also forced Shaik to unlock his PhonePe account and transferred Rs 488 to another account. The robbers threatened the group with dire consequences if they approached the police.
The victims subsequently informed their employer about the incident and filed a complaint with the Electronics City police.
The Electronics City police have registered a case of robbery and dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt. A police officer stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects as further investigations continue.
