The Asian Series Opens Tokyo to Seoul Outlet in Koramangala

The Asian Series, a Mangaluru-based family restaurant with origins in Mysuru, launched its Bengaluru chapter with a 'Tokyo to Seoul' concept in Koramangala on Friday evening.

The launch was inaugurated by Karnataka Minister of Health and Family Welfare UT Khader, alongside Dr UT Iftikar Ali, a physiotherapist, academic, and Senate member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Karnataka Minister of Forest, Ecology and Environment Ramalinga Reddy was also present at the inaugural event.

The Asian Series was established to provide diners with options beyond conventional Indo-Chinese offerings, focusing instead on authentic regional dishes from across Asia, including sushi and Korean rice cakes.

Rounak Shetty, owner of The Asian Series, stated that customer interest during their early days in Mysuru prompted the expansion to the capital. Shetty noted that diners frequently asked if the brand was based in Bengaluru, making the opening a significant milestone for the business.

Addressing the competitive dining landscape in Bengaluru, Shetty explained that the restaurant intends to focus on authentic preparations rather than fusion experiments. The establishment aims to maintain traditional flavours rather than combining Asian dishes with Indian spices.

In addition to its culinary offerings, the Koramangala outlet features a dedicated library space for comic and manga enthusiasts, allowing visitors to read while dining. Shetty noted that the growing popularity of anime, Asian television series, and pop culture across India has inspired local interest in experiencing authentic Asian dishes.
