Six Arrested for Murder of Medical Shop Owner at Madiwala Traffic Signal

The Madiwala police have arrested six people in connection with the murder of a medical shop owner, Suhail, who was intercepted and hacked to death in full public view near the Madiwala traffic signal on Saturday night, August 22.

The arrested accused have been identified as Adil, a rowdy-sheeter operating in the Bandepalya area, along with his five associates: Yasin, Abbas, Afivuallah, Shaan, and Syed Farhan.

According to the police, the fatal attack was an act of revenge stemming from the killing of Adil’s friend Shabbir, who was murdered within the Bandepalya police station limits in January. Police suspect that Suhail had allegedly provided financial backing for Shabbir’s murder and that his brothers were also actively involved in that crime.

Investigators stated that Adil harboured anger over his friend's death and orchestrated the plot to kill Suhail in retaliation. Police also suspect that prior to the incident, Suhail had told his friends that he intended to assault Adil before Adil could carry out any retaliatory attack against him.

On Saturday night, the armed gang intercepted Suhail at the busy Madiwala traffic signal and attacked him with weapons in full public view before fleeing the scene.

Following the killing, the six accused had reportedly finalised plans to flee Bengaluru and escape to Mumbai. However, the Madiwala police tracked their movements and arrested all six suspects before they could board transport out of the city.

The police are currently interrogating the six arrested individuals to establish their individual roles in the murder and to reconstruct the exact sequence of events leading up to the fatal assault.
