Seven Detained in Chikkamagaluru Over Pro-Pakistan Video on Social Media

Police in Chikkamagaluru have detained seven suspects in connection with a viral video featuring pro-Pakistan audio linked to a large Tipu Sultan cut-out erected in Tipu Nagar.

The detention followed tension in the area on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi after the clip was shared widely on Instagram. The video displayed the Tipu Sultan cut-out accompanied by a slogan stating, "We are Pakistan Mujahideen soldiers and protectors of this soil."

According to investigators, the video was uploaded to social media through an Instagram account operating under the name Power Tipu Boys. The spread of the video prompted swift police intervention to prevent unrest.

Following the circulation of the clip, law enforcement authorities registered a suo motu case and launched an investigation. Officers subsequently tracked down and detained seven individuals for questioning.

Investigators are interrogating the detained suspects to ascertain who posted the song and to determine whether any external individuals instigated the act.

Despite the tension, Eid Milad-un-Nabi was observed across Chikkamagaluru on Wednesday under tight police security arrangements to maintain law and order.
