Renukaswamy Murder: Bengaluru Court Allows Accused Pradosh To Turn Approver

A City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru on Tuesday accepted the approver plea filed by accused number 14, Pradosh S Rao, in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.

The order, passed by 58th Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge Sujatha Madivalappa Sambrani, allows Pradosh to be treated as an approver in the high-profile case involving Kannada actor Darshan.

Pradosh, who is a close associate of actor Darshan and previously acted alongside him in a movie, had submitted an application seeking approver status one month ago. The move faced opposition from Darshan and other co-accused in the case, who approached the High Court to challenge the plea. However, the High Court dismissed their petitions, clearing the way for the sessions court to rule on the matter.

Legal proceedings in the case could see significant developments following this decision, as Pradosh is expected to disclose key details regarding the alleged abduction and murder of Renukaswamy.

While granting the plea, the court imposed specific conditions on Pradosh. Under the terms of the order, he is required to remain in jail until the legal process is fully concluded.

The court also specified that if any information provided by Pradosh is established to be false, or if he retracts his statement during proceedings, his approver status will be revoked. In such an event, he could once again be prosecuted as an accused in the murder case, and an additional case for tendering false evidence could be registered against him.
