Railway Protection Force Recovers Stolen Rs 1.2 Lakh Motorcycle In Bengaluru

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully recovered a stolen Hero XPulse motorcycle valued at almost Rs 1.2 lakh on Thursday, more than two months after it was taken from the KSR Bengaluru railway station. Along with recovering the vehicle, security personnel also apprehended a man who allegedly stole the motorcycle from the station premises.

The incident began on the morning of March 19, when the motorcycle's owner, Rakesh Chandran (name changed), arrived at the railway station. Chandran, who is a resident of Jakkur, was riding his Hero XPulse motorcycle, which carries a Tamil Nadu registration. He parked the vehicle near the main entrance of the KSR Bengaluru station before heading inside.

When Chandran returned to the parking lot later that same evening, he discovered that his motorcycle was no longer where he had left it. Realizing the vehicle had been stolen, he immediately filed a complaint with the local authorities.

Following the complaint, the Government Railway Police (GRP) for the Bengaluru division officially registered a First Information Report (FIR). The case was filed under Section 303(2) of BNS.

In their efforts to locate the missing motorcycle and identify the person responsible for the theft, personnel from both the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police launched a joint investigation. They retrieved and reviewed CCTV camera footage from multiple surveillance cameras located across the railway station as well as from local traffic rooms.

Despite reviewing the footage, investigators were initially unable to trace the movement of the stolen motorcycle or identify the suspect. The probe remained at a standstill for several weeks as officers continued their search.

The breakthrough in the investigation occurred on Thursday, when law enforcement officers received a specific tip-off. This information allowed the RPF to locate the stolen motorcycle and apprehend the man accused of committing the theft, bringing the two-month search to a successful conclusion.
