Pregnant Woman Constable Attacked with Iron Rod at KSR Railway Station

A pregnant woman constable attached to the Railway Police was allegedly assaulted on her head with an iron rod by a man at the KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru early Wednesday morning. Railway Police subsequently arrested the accused in connection with the attack.

The injured constable has been identified as Shilpa, who is two months pregnant and posted at the KSR Railway Police Station. The accused, identified as 28-year-old Gajendra, is a mason hailing from Chennai.

The incident occurred around 5:00 am on Wednesday at the Railway Police check-post located inside the KSR Railway Station premises. Gajendra, who had reportedly lost his mobile phone at the station, approached the check-post to register a complaint regarding the missing device.

At the time, Shilpa was on duty alone at the post. She advised Gajendra to return later when other personnel would be present to assist with filing the complaint. Angered by her response, Gajendra allegedly grabbed an iron rod and struck Shilpa on the head multiple times, inflicting serious injuries.

Following the assault, passengers and railway officials present in the vicinity intervened and helped rush the injured constable to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Based on a statement provided by the injured constable, the Railway Police registered a case against Gajendra and took him into custody for further legal proceedings.
