Prakash Raj Name Not Deleted From Electoral Roll, Clarifies Bengaluru Civic Body

The Bengaluru Central City Corporation has clarified that actor Prakash Raj’s name remains registered on the electoral roll in the Shantinagar Assembly constituency, refuting claims that his name was deleted during the Summary Intensive Revision (SIR).
According to an official release by the civic body, Raj's name was actively registered at Serial Number 970, Part Number 1 of the 163 Shanthinagar Assembly Constituency as of June 16, 2026, the date when electoral roll data was frozen for SIR activities.
The civic body issued the clarification after a video featuring the actor went viral on social media on Tuesday. In the video, Raj alleged that his name had been removed from the electoral roll during the revision process despite him being born and raised in Bengaluru.
A house-to-house verification conducted by the Booth Level Officer (BLO) revealed that Raj had permanently moved from his registered address at No. 266, Garden Apartment. The BLO carried out an official inquiry with neighbours and the property manager. The flat owner also confirmed over the telephone that Raj had not lived at the residence for the past four years and that other tenants were currently residing there.
Based on statements gathered during the inquiry, officials drew up a spot mahazar (spot inspection report) and officially marked Raj’s voter status as "Shifted" in accordance with statutory guidelines laid down by the Election Commission of India.
The Corporation Commissioner and Additional District Election Officer (Central) spoke directly with Raj over the telephone. Raj confirmed that while he no longer resides at the registered Garden Apartment address, he continues to live at a different address within the Shantinagar Assembly Constituency.
The civic body noted that Raj can update his voter details by submitting BLO Form-6 for his current residential address, concluding that the allegations made by the actor were verified and found not true.
