Police Arrest AC Mechanic in Doddaballapur for Links to Pakistan Gangsters

A 28-year-old air-conditioning mechanic was arrested on Thursday on the outskirts of Doddaballapur by the local police on charges of establishing contact with Pakistan-based gangsters with terror links.
The suspect, identified as S Syed Abubakar, is a resident of Islampura in Doddaballapur. According to investigators, he had been in contact with Pakistan-based gangsters and an international criminal network for the past two years. He had previously undergone training in Kerala and Delhi and was teaching at a mosque.
Doddaballapur Town police took Abubakar into custody following specific intelligence inputs shared by a central investigation agency.
Officials revealed that Abubakar operated an Instagram account under the handle sayedabudakar313, where he liked reels of Pakistan-based gangsters shared by an account named Hammadmemon333. He also uploaded videos of gangsters as his status updates and shared his personal details with the same account. During the initial examination of his mobile phone, police discovered photographs of pistols.
Investigators seized several mobile phones, SIM cards, and suspicious documents from his possession. Police suspect that he was preparing to utilise a local network to conduct illegal operations or facilitate financial transactions.
Given the severity of the allegations, senior police officials alongside officers from central investigative agencies conducted detailed questioning of the suspect. Investigators are currently working to identify any associates who may have aided him within Karnataka or in other parts of the country.
A case has been registered against Abubakar under Section 113(3) (Terrorist Act) and Section 197(2) (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
