One Caught After Gang Smashes Windows of Three Cars in Rajendra Nagar

A midnight car vandalism and attempted theft incident in Rajendra Nagar, Koramangala, led to the capture of one suspect after local residents intervened on June 8. The gang targeted three parked vehicles, smashing their windows before their activities were interrupted.

The incident occurred around midnight when a group of miscreants began targeting vehicles parked in the locality. The targeted cars included a Maruti Swift Dzire, a Maruti Ertiga, and a Toyota Innova.

The attempted theft was foiled after David Kumar N, a social activist and the owner of the Maruti Swift Dzire, received an unexpected late-night alert. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a passer-by called David to inform him that a group was actively vandalising his vehicle.

Upon receiving the phone call, David immediately rushed to the location where his car was parked. When he arrived at the spot, he discovered a man sitting inside his Maruti Swift Dzire. The suspect had already smashed the window glass of the vehicle to gain entry.

While the other members of the gang managed to flee the scene as David arrived, local residents gathered and successfully caught one of the suspects. The apprehended suspect was identified as Kalib. The residents held Kalib and subsequently handed him over to the responding police officers.

In his formal complaint, David stated that he had left several pen drives and legal documents inside his vehicle. These items were related to an ongoing government land encroachment dispute that is currently being heard before a court. David alleged that the vandals specifically targeted and damaged his car in an attempt to steal these dispute-related documents and pen drives.

Apart from David’s vehicle, the gang also targeted two other cars parked in the vicinity, smashing their window glass in a similar manner.

Following the incident, the Koramangala police registered a case. The charges were filed under Section 303 for theft and Section 324 for mischief under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
