No New H1N1 Cases at Clarence High School in Richards Town as 215 Monitored

The Public Health Department of the Bengaluru North City Corporation (BNCC) has stepped up active health surveillance at Clarence High School in Richards Town, Bengaluru, following reports of flu infections on the campus. Health officials confirmed that no new H1N1 cases were detected during their assessment on Thursday.
The health inspection was initiated following directives from BNCC Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar. As part of the response, a specialized health team alongside the medical officer from the New Bagalur Layout Primary Health Centre visited the school premises to conduct an on-ground review of student attendance and monitor their overall health conditions.
According to the school management, 215 students across various classes have reported mild flu-related symptoms. The visiting health officials evaluated the affected students and reviewed the containment measures, noting that continuous monitoring is actively being carried out for symptoms including fever, cough, cold, and other respiratory ailments.
Following the inspection, civic health authorities directed the school administration to maintain strict vigilance and submit daily health reports. School authorities have been told to immediately notify the civic health department if any students exhibit fever, respiratory difficulties, or other related symptoms.
Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar stated that the health department is maintaining ongoing surveillance across the institution to promptly identify any unusual increase or clustering of cases and initiate necessary preventive action.
