Nepali security guard dies after assault in Chinnappanahalli, five arrested

A 22-year-old security guard from Nepal died on July 15, two days after he was brutally assaulted by his neighbours following an argument in Chinnappanahalli, which falls under the HAL police station limits in Bengaluru. The victim, identified as Gajendra, succumbed to the severe injuries he sustained during the physical altercation that occurred on July 13.

In the wake of the incident, the HAL police arrested five people in connection with the fatal assault. The arrested individuals have been identified by the police as Narendra, Ram Chand, Govind, and two women who are both named Vimala. Like the deceased victim, all five of the accused are natives of Nepal who currently reside in Bengaluru and are employed as housekeeping staff and security guards in the city.

Investigating officers revealed that Gajendra had arrived in Bengaluru three years ago. Since his arrival in the city, he had been working as a security guard at an apartment complex.

According to the HAL police, the fatal confrontation on July 13 was the result of a long-standing dispute between Gajendra and his neighbours. The police stated that Gajendra had allegedly been repeatedly targeting the five accused individuals prior to the incident. Specifically, he was accused of sending them lewd messages and creating a nuisance in their residential area.

These actions had reportedly led to frequent confrontations between Gajendra and the accused group over a period of time. The ongoing friction eventually escalated on July 13, resulting in the brutal physical assault that ultimately claimed Gajendra's life two days later.

Following the death of the 22-year-old on July 15, the HAL police registered a case and arrested the five neighbours. All of the accused individuals have since been remanded to judicial custody.
