Man Kills Two Daughters, Attempts Suicide at Hotel Near Bengaluru Airport

A 40-year-old senior manager at a cab company allegedly strangled his two minor daughters to death before attempting to take his own life at a luxury hotel near Kempegowda International Airport on Monday evening, police said. The deceased children have been identified as five-year-old Shaik Zehara and 10-year-old Shaik Zoya.

The father, identified as S.G. Imran, is a resident of Bilal Nagar near Nagawara Main Road. Hotel security staff discovered him in a critical condition inside the hotel bathroom with his throat slit and immediately shifted him to Manipal Hospital. Police confirmed that Imran is currently out of danger and undergoing medical treatment at the facility.

According to police investigations, Imran checked into the hotel along with his two young daughters on Sunday, August 9, at around 4:30 p.m. The incident came to light on Monday, August 10, after members of the hotel staff reportedly heard a commotion coming from inside the room and went to check.

Upon entering the room, hotel staff discovered the two children lying dead on the bed, while Imran was found lying injured in the bathroom. Police officers who arrived at the scene subsequently recovered a knife from inside the room.

During their initial search, police recovered a note from the spot. In the note, Imran allegedly referred to ongoing marital disputes with his wife and claimed that he suspected her of being in a relationship with another person.

Police officials are currently verifying the contents of the note and investigating the exact circumstances leading to the deaths. A murder case has been registered by the police, and further investigation into the incident remains under way.
