Man Kills Two Daughters, Attempts Suicide at Hotel Near Bengaluru Airport

A 45-year-old resident of Nagawara Main Road allegedly killed his two young daughters and attempted to end his life at a luxury hotel near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Monday afternoon following a suspected marital dispute.

The deceased children have been identified as eight-year-old Shaik Zehara and ten-year-old Shaik Zoya. Their father, SC Imran, survived the suicide attempt and was rushed to a private hospital nearby, where he is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be out of danger.

According to police, Imran had checked into the hotel near the airport with his two daughters at around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. The incident came to light at around 4:00 p.m. on Monday after housekeeping staff knocked on the door of the room and received no response.

When repeated knocks went unanswered, housekeeping staff alerted the hotel security personnel. Security staff then entered the room, where they found both girls dead on the bed and Imran lying in a pool of blood. Hotel staff immediately rushed Imran to the hospital and alerted local authorities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Mithun Kumar visited the scene following the report. Preliminary police findings indicate that Imran allegedly strangled his two daughters to death before slitting his throat with a knife. The bodies of the two children have been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police recovered a note from the hotel room detailing a marital dispute between Imran and his wife. In the note, Imran mentioned that he had killed his daughters and stated that he suspected his wife of infidelity after allegedly finding evidence that she was with another person. Police suspect this dispute drove him to commit the acts.

A senior police officer stated that authorities currently do not have information regarding why Imran had booked the hotel room. The family members of the deceased have been informed of the incident. The Kempegowda International Airport police are investigating the case from multiple angles, based on the note and personal details, though a case was yet to be registered at the time of reporting.
