Man Killed, 2 Injured as Speeding Car Hits Two-Wheeler on Budigere-Devanahalli Road

A 45-year-old man was killed and two others, including a three-year-old boy, sustained injuries after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle from behind near Baladimmanahalli Gate on the Budigere-Devanahalli Road on Tuesday night.

According to the Devanahalli Traffic Police, the incident occurred at around 9.15 pm when 35-year-old Nagesh was riding a Hero Honda Passion motorcycle towards Devanahalli. Shivamurthy, aged 45, along with his three-year-old son, Prajwal, were travelling with him on the two-wheeler.

Investigators stated that the driver of a blue car was allegedly travelling at high speed when the vehicle crashed into the rear of the motorcycle. The force of the impact threw all three riders off the two-wheeler and onto the road.

Following the collision, the driver of the car allegedly fled the scene without stopping to assist the victims. During the subsequent inspection of the crash site, police personnel recovered the car's number plate, which had fallen off during the impact.

Members of the public gathered at the spot and assisted in rushing all three injured persons to a private hospital in Devanahalli. Upon arrival, doctors examined Shivamurthy and declared him dead.

Nagesh sustained injuries in the crash and was admitted to the hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical treatment. Prajwal suffered minor injuries in the collision and was discharged after receiving treatment from doctors.

The Devanahalli Traffic Police have registered a case against the unidentified driver of the blue car under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act. Police officials are conducting further investigations and are attempting to trace and apprehend the absconding driver.
