Man Films Woman Bathing at Green Glen Layout Apartment in Bengaluru

A 28-year-old female resident of an apartment in Green Glen Layout, Bengaluru, was secretly filmed by an unidentified man while she was bathing on May 31.

The incident took place at approximately 8:15 p.m. while the woman was taking a bath. She was shocked to notice a mobile phone positioned near her bathroom window, which was actively being used to record a video of her.

According to the victim's statement to the police, the mobile phone used in the incident was sea-green in colour and featured a dual-camera setup. She also caught a brief glimpse of the suspect, describing him as wearing a grey T-shirt.

Upon realising that her privacy was being violated, the woman immediately raised an alarm. However, the unidentified man managed to flee the spot before anyone could stop or identify him.

Following the incident, a case was registered under Section 66E of the Information Technology (IT) Act, which addresses punishment for violation of privacy, alongside Section 77 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for voyeurism.

A senior police officer confirmed that investigators are currently verifying footage from CCTV cameras installed at the apartment building and in the surrounding areas to obtain clues that could lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
