Man Confesses To Killing Six-Year-Old Girl Over Spilled Ice Cream In Bengaluru

A realtor in police custody has confessed to killing six-year-old P Vennela after she spilled ice cream in a vehicle following an outing in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. The suspect, Mohan GN, reportedly admitted to hitting the child in the stomach and smothering her to muffle her cries, solving a mystery that began on March 24, according to police reports on June 11, 2026.

The victim, Vennela, was the daughter of Praveen, an educationist from Davanagere, and Priyanka, an advocate. Priyanka and Praveen had recently separated, after which Priyanka began living with her college friend, Mohan, at a luxury address in east Bengaluru.

According to the police, the incident occurred after Mohan, Priyanka, and Vennela went on a day's outing on March 24. The trio visited shops and eateries in and around Indiranagar before driving their multiutility vehicle (MUV) to the outskirts for a dinner of biryani and ice cream in Hoskote.

During the drive back from Hoskote, Vennela accidentally spilled her dessert on the seat and the foot mat. When she started crying for another cone, Mohan reportedly lost his temper.

In his confession to the investigators, Mohan stated that in a fit of rage, he hit the child in the stomach with his elbow and tight-shut her mouth when she started crying loudly.

An investigating officer stated that a combination of severe internal injuries and smothering led to the child's death. A histopathology report of the victim indicated internal injuries in her abdomen area. Police are currently putting the MUV through advanced forensic testing to corroborate Mohan's confession with physical evidence.

The arrest of Mohan on June 4 followed a complaint filed by Vennela's father, Praveen, who accused Mohan and Priyanka of murdering the girl. Mohan, who is already married with two children but had abandoned his family, is currently in 10-day police custody. Priyanka remains elusive.
