Lokayukta Seizes Rs 2.53 Crore Cash in Raids on Hebbal Officer Mallikarjuna B

Karnataka Lokayukta Police on Wednesday seized Rs 2.53 crore in cash during simultaneous searches across more than 11 locations linked to Mallikarjuna B, Special Land Acquisition Officer associated with Subramanya Nagar, Guddadahalli, and Hebbal, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The anti-corruption agency conducted searches covering the residences, offices, and properties linked to the officer and his relatives. According to Lokayukta officials, the operation uncovered both movable and immovable assets with a total valuation exceeding Rs 18.33 crore.

Among the findings, investigators identified immovable properties collectively valued at Rs 14.28 crore. These real estate holdings comprised two houses along with 100 acres and five guntas of agricultural land.

Officials also documented movable assets amounting to Rs 4.04 crore during the raids. Alongside the Rs 2.53 crore in liquid cash, the seized movable property included bank balances totaling Rs 1 crore, vehicles valued at Rs 15 lakh, household articles worth Rs 33.40 lakh, and gold and silver ornaments valued at Rs 3.10 lakh.

Following preliminary assessments, the Lokayukta determined that Rs 12.95 crore of the total identified assets stood disproportionate to the officer's known and lawful sources of income.

Lokayukta officials are currently scrutinizing and verifying all documents, financial records, and physical assets seized during the multi-location operation as part of their ongoing investigation into the allegations.
