Kumaraswamy Accuses Bengaluru Police Chief of Leaking Sting Operation Details

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday accused the Bengaluru Police Commissioner of leaking sensitive information concerning an ongoing investigation into an alleged sting operation.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Kumaraswamy claimed that the Congress-led Karnataka government is using the matter to seek political revenge against him. He took strong exception to public statements made by the city's top police official regarding the probe.
Criticising the officer's conduct, Kumaraswamy said that the Police Commissioner was behaving like a head clerk by issuing such statements. The Union Minister questioned whose behest the commissioner was working under and alleged that the official was acting to protect his post.
Kumaraswamy asserted that he is aware of the direction in which the investigation into the sting operation is heading and claimed to know whom the state government is trying to protect.
The Union Minister stated that he would disclose further details on Monday regarding the internal developments taking place within the Police Department.
