KR Pura youth arrested for attacking police during RCB celebrations in Banasawadi

A 22-year-old private firm employee was arrested for allegedly attacking police officers in Banasawadi, Bengaluru, during the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bengaluru's victory in the IPL final late Sunday night.

The arrested youth, identified as Sudesh, is a resident of KR Pura. According to the police, Sudesh was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

The confrontation transpired around 11:30 p.m. when three men, including Sudesh, arrived in the Banasawadi area on a motorcycle. The men allegedly began shouting slogans at the top of their voices in support of the RCB cricket team, which police noted caused a disturbance and inconvenience to the members of the public.

Policemen who were deployed on duty in the area approached the group and advised them to stop creating a public disturbance. However, police reported that the situation escalated when Sudesh got off the motorcycle and confronted the officers.

Sudesh allegedly began to abuse the policemen verbally. He then grabbed an on-duty police constable and pushed him directly to the ground.

When the other police officers at the scene stepped in and attempted to apprehend him, the other two men who had arrived on the motorcycle joined Sudesh to resist the officers. The trio then abandoned their motorcycle at the scene of the incident and fled to evade arrest.

The Bengaluru police used the vehicle registration details of the abandoned motorcycle to track down the suspects. Through this investigation, police successfully located and arrested Sudesh.
