Koramangala Property Owner Fined Rs 1 Lakh for Dumping Debris on Footpath

Bengaluru South City Corporation on Wednesday imposed an on-the-spot fine of Rs 1 lakh on a building owner for dumping construction debris on the footpath and into a stormwater drain on 6th Main Road in Koramangala 1st Block.

The violation came to light during a morning inspection on Wednesday when a civic marshal from the BTM Layout division spotted the debris and alerted senior officials.

Civic authorities inspected the construction site and penalised the property owner, identified as David, for illegally dumping construction waste in a public area and damaging the municipal drain and footpath. Officials also instructed the owner to clear the debris at his own expense, according to Commissioner KN Ramesh.

The action comes amid a broader civic crackdown across the city to clear construction and demolition waste from roads, drains, and pedestrian pathways.
