Karnataka Police Step Up Security for 7,905 Constable Recruitment Exams
State authorities and the Police Department have launched a comprehensive security operation across examination centres ahead of written tests for 7,905 police constable posts scheduled for August and September 2026. The intensified vigil follows a high-level review meeting aimed at preventing question paper leaks, candidate impersonation, and recruitment scams.
The recruitment drive will kick off on August 2, 2026, with written examinations for 3,991 Civil Police Constable posts. It will continue on September 6, 2026, for 1,600 Armed Police Constable posts, and conclude on September 20, 2026, for 2,314 Special Police Constable posts under the KSRP, IRB, and KSISF. The department plans to conduct recruitment for an additional 253 Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) vacancies following the constable exams.
Security protocols include placing individuals connected to previous recruitment offences and coaching centres making false job promises under strict surveillance. Cyber Crime units and intelligence agencies have been directed to monitor digital networks and social media platforms to detect paper leaks, electronic device usage, organized cheating networks, and misinformation.
During a recent review meeting examining preparations for more than 70,000 government posts across departments, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Rajender Kumar Katari instructed officials to maintain a foolproof system. He called for meticulous planning, safe transportation and custody of confidential materials, and immediate response mechanisms for emergency situations.
Director General of Police (Recruitment) Umesh Kumar instructed police commissioners and Superintendents of Police to step up intelligence gathering. High-level officials present at the meeting included Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Hithendra, Revenue Commissioner Meena Nagaraj, and Karnataka Examinations Authority Executive Director Prasanna. Authorities warned that anyone involved in cheating will be prosecuted under the Karnataka Public Examinations (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023.
