Karnataka Government Transfers 16 Senior IPS Officers in Major Reshuffle

The Karnataka government on Saturday ordered a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 16 senior Indian Police Service officers across the state with immediate effect.
The transfers bring significant changes to key policing jurisdictions in Bengaluru and several district units. R Srinivas Gowda, who served as Superintendent of Police for Bengaluru south district (Ramanagara), has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police for City Crime Branch-1. Rohan Jagadeesh, previously the SP of Gadag, replaces Gowda as the SP of Bengaluru south district.
In Bengaluru's city administration, Kushal Chouksey, who served as the SP of Chikkaballapur, takes over as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Bengaluru. He replaces Padmini Sahoo, who has been transferred to take Chouksey's previous post as the Superintendent of Police in Chikkaballapur. Meanwhile, Sahil Bagla, the DCP of Traffic East Division in Bengaluru, has been transferred to serve as the SP of Koppal.
At the senior leadership level, Devajyoti Ray has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police (Crimes and Technical Services). ADGP Harishekaran P, who previously held that post, has been reassigned as ADGP of the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement. ADGP M Nanjundaswamy has been transferred to the Grievances and Human Rights wing as ADGP.
The order also included several changes in city commissionerates and specialized units. Borase Bhushan Gulabrao, the Police Commissioner of Belagavi City, has been transferred to serve as DIG and Commissioner of Police for Hubballi-Dharwad. Nikam Prakash Amrit replaces him as DIG and Commissioner of Police for Belagavi City.
Among other appointments, Inspector General Amit Singh has been shifted from Western Range, Mangaluru, to take charge as IG of the Karnataka State Reserve Police. R Chethan, who was awaiting posting, has been named DIG of Western Range, Mangaluru. Shiva Prakash Devaraju has been posted as SP of the Anti Narcotics Task Force, Dr Shivakumar has been appointed as SP of the Karnataka Lokayukta, and Mithun H N, who served as DCP (Law and Order) in Mangaluru City, will take over as SP of Gadag.
