Karnataka Flags 1.09 Crore Voters Under ASDDO Category in Electoral Roll Revision

The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka concluded on Monday, resulting in nearly 85 lakh voters being identified as at risk of exclusion from draft rolls due to discrepancies in their entries.
Election officials flagged 1.09 crore voters, representing 19.54 percent of the state's total electorate of 5.55 crore across all 224 Assembly constituencies, under the ASDDO category. This marks the highest proportion of flagged voters recorded in any Special Intensive Revision exercise conducted in the country to date.
Karnataka's proportion of flagged voters surpassed figures from other states undergoing the exercise, including Uttar Pradesh at 19.09 percent, Arunachal Pradesh at 18.7 percent, and West Bengal at 12 percent.
Among the flagged entries across the state are approximately 16.38 lakh deceased voters and 7.07 lakh duplicate registrations. The names in these categories are expected to be removed from the official rolls.
The draft electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on August 24. Following the release, voters will have an opportunity to file claims and objections through September 23.
Voters who find their names omitted can submit the necessary documentation to seek inclusion. Eligible citizens who have relocated or discovered duplicate entries can submit applications using Form 6, which is available online. Final electoral rolls will be published once all claims and objections are resolved.
