IPS Officer MN Anucheth Given Dual Charge in Karnataka Administrative Reshuffle

The Karnataka government has executed a significant administrative reshuffle in Bengaluru, assigning dual portfolios to Indian Police Service (IPS) officer MN Anucheth. The official transition took place on Wednesday.

Anucheth, who was previously serving as the deputy inspector general of police (DIGP) for recruitment, has been transferred and posted as the DIGP and commissioner of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR). In this role, he replaces Hemanth M Nimbalkar.

Alongside his primary appointment at the DIPR, the state government has also entrusted Anucheth with the concurrent charge of commissioner of the youth empowerment and sports department. This additional responsibility was given to the IPS officer following the transfer of IAS officer Kumar THM, who previously headed the department.

Meanwhile, the officer Anucheth replaced at the DIPR, Hemanth M Nimbalkar, is currently awaiting a new posting from the state government.

The administrative reshuffle places two major state departments under the concurrent management of Anucheth, marking a notable consolidation of responsibilities for the senior officer.
