Gauribidanur woman dies and three injured in SUV collision near Bashettihalli

A 42-year-old woman was killed and three others sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Bashettihalli in the Doddaballapur taluk of Bengaluru Rural district. The deceased woman has been identified by the authorities as Anita, a resident of Gauribidanur.
The fatal collision occurred when a two-wheeler, identified as a scooty, was driving in the wrong direction. A high-speed SUV rammed into the two-wheeler, which was carrying three members of the same family at the time. None of the three family members riding on the scooty appeared to be wearing helmets during the incident.
According to the police, the impact of the collision was extremely severe. The victims on the two-wheeler were flung several metres into the air as the speeding car struck the motorcycle. Anita was rushed to a nearby medical facility but was declared dead upon her arrival at the hospital.
The three other individuals involved in the crash suffered grievous injuries. These injured persons include the two other family members who were riding on the scooty, as well as one occupant of the SUV. Following the accident, all three injured victims were rushed to a private hospital in Bengaluru to receive treatment for their wounds.
The entire sequence of the accident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the area. Preliminary investigations by the local police indicate that the SUV, which was entering from the opposite direction at a high rate of speed, may have caused the collision.
The Doddaballapur Rural Police have registered a case regarding the road accident. Further police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently underway.
