Gangavathi Teenager Kills Father and Sister After Being Stopped From Online Gaming

An 18-year-old pre-university student allegedly stabbed his father and elder sister to death on Saturday night in Gangavathi taluk of Koppal district, Karnataka. The violent incident occurred after the family advised the teenager to stop playing online mobile games.

The suspect, identified by police as Sai Venkat Manideep, allegedly attacked his father, mother, and elder sister in their home. Following the stabbing spree, Manideep allegedly stabbed himself.

The attack resulted in the deaths of his father, 45-year-old Venkat Naidu, and his 19-year-old elder sister. Venkat Naidu worked as a cook at a private school.

Manideep's mother, Soujanya, survived the assault but sustained grievous injuries. Both Soujanya and the suspect are currently undergoing treatment at VIMS Hospital in Ballari, where they were admitted following the incident.

According to the police, the confrontation was sparked when family members advised the PU student against his online mobile gaming habits. The advice led to a sudden escalation, with Manideep allegedly using a sharp object to stab his family members.
