Four-Year-Old Girl Injured in Stray Dog Attack in Kalaburagi's Meenahabal

A four-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after a pack of stray dogs attacked her while she was playing at her home in Meenahabal village, located within the Sedam taluk of Karnataka's Kalaburagi district.

The victim, identified as Sanvi, suffered deep cuts across her face during the sudden animal attack. The injuries included severe lacerations to both her lip and cheek, with photographs taken after the incident documenting the deep wounds inflicted across the young child's face.

Following the attack, family members and village residents promptly moved the injured child to the Sedam Government Hospital for emergency medical care. Medical staff at the facility administered treatment to address the lacerations and closed her facial wounds with stitches.

The incident has triggered widespread fear and raised serious concerns among residents over the escalating stray dog menace in Meenahabal village. Local community members have urged civic authorities to take immediate steps to control the stray dog population in the area to prevent similar attacks from happening again.

The attack in Kalaburagi follows another severe stray dog incident reported in Karnataka earlier this year, which also targeted a four-year-old child. In that incident, an evening of play turned tragic for four-year-old Gopal when he was brutally mauled by a stray dog near his house in Maliyabad, located in Raichur city.

During the Raichur attack, the animal allegedly pounced on young Gopal, dragged him along the ground, and repeatedly bit him on the head. The ferocious assault caused severe bodily trauma, tearing away most of the child's scalp.

Visuals that emerged following the Raichur incident captured the severity of the attack, showing the child's head covered in blood. Most of his scalp had been ripped off in the mauling, leaving only a portion at the back attached, while his face was also stained with blood.
