Five From Bengaluru Missing in Nepal Floods, Karnataka Govt Works on Rescue

Five residents from Bengaluru have been reported missing following severe flash floods and natural disaster in Nepal, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara said.

Authorities are actively working to trace the missing individuals. Parameshwara stated that the Karnataka government is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating rescue and relief operations for people from the state.

To ensure direct oversight on the ground, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that the state government is prepared to send a senior administrative officer and a minister to Kathmandu if the situation warrants it. The deputed team would manage and oversee relief efforts specifically for stranded citizens from Karnataka.

The Karnataka government remains in continuous contact with both the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs to track updates and coordinate diplomatic and disaster response channels in Nepal.

The state administration has also issued an appeal to families and the general public, urging anyone with unreachable relatives or tourists in Nepal following the flash floods to immediately share their details with the government to assist in tracing efforts.
