Family Assaulted on Maddur Stretch of Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway

A family of four was allegedly assaulted by a group of men in a suspected road-rage incident late Sunday on the Maddur stretch of the Bengaluru–Mysuru Expressway. The violent encounter, which was captured on the dashcam of a passing vehicle, has raised public concerns regarding the safety of commuters traveling along the expressway.

The occupants of the targeted vehicle, a Maruti Suzuki Alto, included a man, a woman, children, and an elderly woman.

The incident was captured in a 52-second video clip that has since gone viral on social media. The footage shows the Maruti Suzuki Alto traveling alongside other vehicles before coming to a halt on the road.

Immediately after the car stopped, a group of men surrounded the vehicle. The attackers opened the driver’s side door and began physically assaulting the person behind the wheel.

As the assault unfolded, a woman from the family stepped in to intervene. The footage shows her attempting to stop the physical altercation, while other individuals at the scene also tried to halt the attack.

Local police have not yet issued an official statement concerning the road-rage incident. Additionally, it remains unclear whether the affected family has lodged a formal complaint with the law enforcement authorities.
