DK Shivakumar Rejects TN Demands for Probe Into Chamarajanagar Shootout

Karnataka leader D K Shivakumar has firmly responded to statements from Tamil Nadu leaders demanding an outside investigation into the Chamarajanagar shootout, asserting that states should not interfere with one another's administration.
Speaking in Bengaluru regarding the reactions from across the border, Shivakumar emphasised the importance of maintaining state sovereignty and managing internal matters independently.
The development follows the killing of three alleged poachers during an incident in Chamarajanagar. In response to the deaths, Tamil Nadu leader Vijay condemned the killings and called for a fair investigation by a high-level committee to examine the incident. Calls were also raised seeking an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Addressing these statements in Bengaluru, Shivakumar rejected the demands for outside interference, maintaining that each state must handle its own governance.
"No state should interfere with another state's administration. States have their own problems," Shivakumar stated, underscoring that Karnataka understands how to address its administrative affairs.
He further stressed that the state government is committed to safeguarding its authority, adding, "We have to protect sanctity of our state."
