DK Shivakumar Launches Janashirvada Yatra And Promotes 3A Formula In Kanakapura

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar launched his Janashirvada yatra in Kanakapura, Bengaluru South district, on Sunday, advocating for regional peace and outlining a "3A" development formula focused on shelter, health, and education.

During his first major rally in his home constituency since assuming the Chief Minister's office, Shivakumar visited approximately a dozen villages in and around Kanakapura. Seeking blessings from his constituents, he made stops at local temples and visited various village communities to present his vision for the region.

Shivakumar urged residents to maintain communal harmony and avoid local disputes, instructing police officers not to register frivolous cases. He stated his goal to make Kanakapura a "zero-police-case taluk" so that residents would not need to travel to Ramanagara or Bengaluru for legal disputes.

The Chief Minister introduced the "3A" priority list for the region, which stands for Ashraya (shelter), Arogya (health), and Akshara (education). As part of this development plan, he announced that corporate social responsibility (CSR) schools would be established in one out of every three taluks in the region.

Addressing the local economy, Shivakumar advised farmers to retain their agricultural land rather than selling it to urban buyers. He claimed that land prices in his home district had quadrupled since Ramanagara was renamed in a brand-upgrade exercise. He highlighted the strength of local milk cooperative centres, which contribute to the Bangalore District Cooperative Milk Producers' Societies Union Limited (Bamul), and argued that local agriculture could be as lucrative as city jobs.

Shivakumar also directed advice toward the local youth, urging them to avoid forming workers' unions. Instead, he encouraged them to focus on upskilling to take up employment opportunities in Harohalli, an industrial township near Kanakapura.

During his speeches, the Chief Minister made a soft pitch for the 2028 elections, asking the crowd whether they preferred a "two-year CM or one with a full term." He reminded the audience that voters hold the real power, having secured the state's five guarantee schemes promised in the Congress party's 2023 manifesto.

Furthermore, he warned residents about the potential consequences of the Election Commission's upcoming voter-roll revision. He urged supporters to ensure their voter registration remains in the constituency to continue receiving benefits from state welfare schemes such as Gruha Lakshmi, Gruha Jyothi, and Anna Bhagya. He also referenced past political decisions, noting that former BJP Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa had previously shifted a government hospital from their region to Chikkaballapur, and promised that a new foundation stone would be laid.
