The romantic comedy film 'Cocktail 2' faced its crucial first Monday test at the domestic box office in India on June 22, 2026, as it neared the Rs 50 crore net milestone. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie entered its fourth day of release following a successful opening weekend performance that defied mixed reactions.

Directed by Homi Adajania, 'Cocktail 2' serves as a spiritual sequel. The film made its theatrical debut on a Friday, securing an opening day domestic net collection of Rs 13.50 crore. Despite facing polarized and mixed reviews from film critics, the romantic drama saw a surge in ticket sales over the weekend. By the end of its third day on Sunday, the film had accumulated a three-day domestic net total of Rs 47.50 crore.

In addition to its domestic success, 'Cocktail 2' also drew audiences internationally. The movie's worldwide gross collection crossed the Rs 76 crore mark by Sunday, bringing its total global haul to Rs 76.25 crore over its first three days in theatres.

The film's performance on its first Monday is widely regarded as a key test for its box office run. Historically, urban romantic dramas of this genre tend to experience a drop of 50% to 55% on their first Monday compared to their opening Friday earnings.

Trade expectations indicated that 'Cocktail 2' was on track to close its fourth day with an estimated domestic net collection of Rs 5.50 crore to Rs 6.50 crore. Achieving this projected target would allow the film to successfully cross the Rs 50 crore net domestic milestone.
