CM Shivakumar Launches Forensic Vehicles, New Safety Measures at Vidhana Soudha

Chief Minister Shivakumar launched new mobile forensic vehicles for district police units on the steps of the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru to boost crime detection capabilities. The launch event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara, Additional Chief Secretary Rajendra Kumar Kataria, and Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG & IGP) MA Saleem.

Before officially launching the vehicles, Shivakumar inspected various forensic exhibits and was briefed on major narcotics seizures recently conducted by the Bengaluru Police. Addressing the police personnel at the venue, he issued a stern warning against corruption within the department. He stated that no police officer should be involved in deals or crimes, warning that strict action would be taken against anyone found participating in such activities.

In a bid to curb hooliganism and enhance public safety, Shivakumar directed the formation of dedicated anti-rowdy squads at every police station. He also emphasized that the government would continue to invest in technology and artificial intelligence to improve crime detection across the state.

Additionally, a new protocol was announced to safeguard temple hundis under the Muzrai Department, following a recent theft at a Ram temple. Shivakumar directed that the entire process—from removing the hundi and counting the cash to depositing it in the bank—must be videographed in the presence of local officials and police. A government order detailing this protocol is expected to be issued shortly.

Shivakumar stressed that preventing crime is more important than investigating it, noting the government's responsibility to protect all places of worship. He also called for a transparent police recruitment process based solely on merit, while assuring officers of the government's support if they serve with integrity.
