Civic Officials Inspect Whitefield's ECC Road and Order Footpath Repairs

Bengaluru East City Corporation (BECC) Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, alongside a team of civic officials and engineers, recently conducted an on-site inspection of ECC Road in Whitefield, Bengaluru. The inspection was carried out to address severe pedestrian safety concerns and infrastructure neglect on the stretch. The civic body swung into action shortly after a report by Bangalore Mirror highlighted the crumbling condition of the road and its footpaths.
During the inspection of the stretch, Additional Commissioner Sudhakar directed officials to immediately repair or replace damaged footpath slabs. In addition to these repairs, he ordered a special drive to remove encroachments from the pedestrian pathways. He instructed the engineers to ensure that the footpaths are made safe, continuous, and completely obstacle-free for the public.
The inspection follows a series of complaints from local residents regarding the deteriorating condition of ECC Road. According to residents, the area has suffered from broken footpaths, damaged roads, poor street lighting, and general civic neglect. These conditions have made walking along the busy stretch difficult and hazardous for pedestrians.
In response to these concerns, the latest inspection signals that the civic body is prepared to take action. Officials and engineers are expected to begin the physical repairs and start enforcement measures against encroachments in the coming days. The primary goal of the upcoming work is the initiation of repairs on damaged footpaths and the removal of all obstructions to ensure safe, continuous, and obstacle-free pedestrian pathways for the residents of Whitefield.
The Bengaluru East City Corporation's visit has raised hopes among local residents who have long dealt with the neglected infrastructure. The community is now looking forward to the promised repairs and the special drive to clear the pathways, which officials say will begin shortly.
