Canara Bank Marks Independence Day at Bengaluru Head Office, Extends CSR Aid

Canara Bank marked Independence Day on Monday with a celebration held at the bank's head office in Bengaluru, highlighting its ongoing corporate social responsibility efforts and community support initiatives.
Speaking at the gathering, the bank's managing director and chief executive officer emphasised the institution's social commitments. "Through our focus on education, financial inclusion and community welfare, Canara Bank remains committed to contributing to a more equitable and empowered India," the official stated.
As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, the bank extended financial assistance amounting to Rs 4.22 lakh to the Aaraike Charitable Trust. According to the bank official, the contribution will be used to provide 75 rexine beds and 50 cots for the residents of an old-age home.
The official also shared updates regarding the Canara Vidya Jyothi Scholarship initiative aimed at supporting girl students. Through the scheme, the bank has provided scholarship assistance amounting to Rs 18.89 crore to support 47,232 meritorious Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe girl students studying in government and government-aided schools.
