BSCC Clears Adugodi Garbage Black Spot Along Hosur Main Road

The Bengaluru South City Corporation (BSCC) has cleared a persistent garbage black spot on Hosur Main Road in Adugodi, restoring pedestrian access along the stretch.

According to BSCC Commissioner KN Ramesh, approximately 500 metres of the footpath running from the Indira Canteen on Hosur Road to the Adugodi Police Quarters has been cleaned and beautified with wall paintings and public awareness messages. Ramesh also personally painted a message on the wall during the initiative.

To prevent the area from returning to a waste dump and to stop future footpath encroachments, the commissioner urged the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) assistant general manager to deploy a dedicated marshal to patrol the stretch. Ramesh noted that strict measures, including imposing fines on violators, must be enforced to curb dumping, alongside continuous surveillance at chronic littering locations.

The drive is part of a broader civic effort across the BTM Layout Assembly Constituency, where officials have identified 25 garbage black spots. Five of those locations have been completely cleared so far, with instructions issued to clear the remaining spots on a priority basis.

In addition to waste removal, the corporation completely cleared encroachments that were obstructing pedestrian movement along Hosur Main Road. Ramesh also inspected ongoing repair and restoration work on damaged footpaths in the area.
