Bomb Threat on Lucknow-Bengaluru IndiGo Flight Declared Hoax at KIA

A bomb threat letter found aboard an IndiGo flight arriving from Lucknow triggered a security scare at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The incident took place on IndiGo flight 6E-231, which landed safely at Terminal 1 of the airport.
According to officials, members of the cabin crew discovered the threat letter during the final leg of the journey. The crew immediately alerted the pilot, who then contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) to report the situation.
Following established emergency protocols, the aircraft was escorted to a designated isolation area upon landing. All passengers were subsequently deboarded so security personnel could inspect the plane.
Teams from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police conducted an intensive security check of the entire aircraft and all onboard baggage.
After completing the search and finding no suspicious objects or explosive materials, officials confirmed that the aircraft was safe and declared the threat to be a hoax.
