BNP Leads Freedom Walks in Uttarahalli, Agara Road Over Bad Infrastructure

Around 200 citizens gathered across Bengaluru neighbourhoods, including Uttarahalli and Agara Road, to participate in Freedom Walks organised by the Bengaluru Navanirmana Party to protest deteriorating road infrastructure and civic misgovernance.

The demonstrations were conducted as part of the party's ongoing "Freedom from Bad Roads and Freedom from Misgovernance" campaign, which was launched on Independence Day. Participants drew attention to chronic issues on local streets, highlighting severe potholes, damaged road surfaces, and unsafe travel conditions affecting motorists and pedestrians alike.

The marches covered several specific routes across the city, including stretches in Uttarahalli, the Ring Road junction near Sobha Jasmine Apartments, Agara Road near Mantri Sarovar Road, and the Bank Colony Bus Stop.

During the walks, the Bengaluru Navanirmana Party questioned how the state government utilises the annual budgetary allocation of around Rs 20,000 crore dedicated to Bengaluru's infrastructure. The organisation demanded higher transparency and accountability from civic authorities and the government regarding the execution and quality of road works.

The party announced that the Freedom Walks will continue across the city to document poor roads, flag public safety risks, and monitor civic spending.
