BMTC Launches Vegadootha Vistara Bus Service Between Magadi Road and Magadi

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Sunday launched a new limited-stop bus service connecting Magadi Road Toll Gate to Magadi. The initiative aims to cater to the growing volume of passengers travelling between Bengaluru and the neighbouring town.
Named the Vegadootha Vistara service, the new route deploys 10 buses that will make 62 trips every day. Commuters will be able to board buses operating at regular intervals of 25 minutes throughout the day. The maximum fare for the entire journey between Magadi Road Toll Gate and Magadi has been set at ₹55.
Under the limited-stop model, the buses will halt at designated major stops along the corridor. These include Kamakshipalya, Summanahalli, Sunkadakatte, Gollarahatti, Honaganahatti, Tavarekere, Varadenahalli Handpost, and Hospet Circle before terminating at Magadi.
Fares from Magadi Road Toll Gate are graded according to destination distance, starting at ₹15 for travel up to Kamakshipalya and going up to ₹50 for stops as far as Hospet Circle.
Prior to the rollout of the new service, the BMTC was already operating 33 scheduled bus services to Magadi, accounting for 190 trips daily. According to transport officials, the addition of the Vegadootha Vistara service comes in direct response to strong and consistent patronage from regular commuters along this route.
The launch forms part of the BMTC's broader expansion of its limited-stop Vegadootha network, which connects Bengaluru with various peri-urban hubs and outlying towns. The transport utility currently operates a total of 143 such services across 14 routes.
Other key destinations connected under the Vegadootha network include Attibele, Anekal, Devanahalli, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala, Dobspet, Bidadi, Harohalli, and Hoskote.
