BMRCL and BIAL Set Timelines for Airport Metro Stations

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) and Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) reviewed the construction progress of the Airport Terminal Metro Station and Airport West Metro Station on Thursday, setting fixed timelines for the completion of various pending works.
The coordination meeting was led by BMRCL Managing Director P C Jaffer and BIAL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Hari Marar. Both agencies discussed interface requirements and coordinated plans across several key areas, including track installation, traction, signalling infrastructure, and architectural finishing.
Following the discussions, officials conducted an inspection of the Airport Terminal Metro Station at Kempegowda International Airport to review the installation of passenger amenities and essential operational systems.
Once completed, the Airport Terminal Metro Station will offer direct connectivity to Kempegowda International Airport’s Terminal 2. Passengers heading to Terminal 1 will be able to access it through a dedicated foot overbridge fitted with travellators.
The station is being built as part of the airport's multi-modal transport hub. It will feature passenger-friendly infrastructure, including check-in counters, baggage-drop facilities, and baggage-screening systems, while offering seamless integration with car-parking zones as well as intra-city and inter-city bus services.
