Bengaluru Traffic Police Issue 212 Notices in Drive Against Illegal Waste Dumping

The Bengaluru Traffic Police have launched a city-wide special enforcement drive against tipper lorries and other vehicles illegally dumping construction and demolition waste on roads and at unauthorized locations across Bengaluru. The initiative, reported on July 13, 2026, was organized to tackle the growing hazards associated with improper debris disposal, which has been disrupting the city's traffic flow.

According to traffic authorities, the indiscriminate dumping of construction waste has been obstructing the free movement of vehicles on public roads. The practice has also posed serious road safety hazards for commuters, caused significant daily inconvenience, and negatively impacted the overall cleanliness of the urban environment.

As a direct result of the special enforcement drive, the police issued 212 notices to the drivers of vehicles found participating in the improper disposal of construction and demolition waste. The issued notices serve as a formal warning against dumping debris at unauthorized spots and direct the operators to strictly follow established waste disposal regulations.

Alongside the strict enforcement measures, the campaign placed a strong emphasis on raising awareness among vehicle operators. Officers educated the drivers of tipper lorries and other waste-transporting vehicles about their legal responsibility. They were instructed to transport and dispose of all construction and demolition waste only at authorized disposal facilities and to follow the prescribed rules.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police stated that the enforcement drive was conducted across various parts of the city. The department reiterated that strict monitoring and enforcement actions will continue in the future to deter violators, prevent illegal dumping, and ensure safer roads and uninterrupted traffic movement for all commuters.
