Bengaluru Traffic Police Collect ₹11.94 Crore Under 50% Fine Concession Scheme

The Bengaluru Traffic Police collected ₹11,93,97,150 in revenue after resolving nearly four lakh pending traffic e-challan cases under a special 50% fine concession scheme in Bengaluru. The 10-day settlement window, which ran from June 21 to June 30, 2026, allowed local motorists to clear their long-pending traffic violations at half the original cost.
According to official data, a total of 3,97,506 traffic e-challan cases were successfully disposed of through the prescribed modes of payment during this brief period. The initiative was aimed at addressing the massive backlog of unresolved traffic violations in the city while offering financial relief to vehicle owners.
The discount scheme was established following an official Government of Karnataka order issued on June 4, 2026. Under this order, the state government granted a one-time 50% reduction on fines for all pending traffic e-challan cases registered by the police department. The discount window officially opened to the public on June 21, 2026, and concluded on June 30, 2026.
Traffic department officials stated that the initiative received an encouraging response from Bengaluru residents. The high turnout not only resulted in the disposal of lakhs of pending cases but also generated substantial revenue for the government. The prescribed payment modes allowed motorists to quickly settle their outstanding violations during the 10 days of the scheme.
