Bengaluru Police Book Influencer Amuku Dumuku Manja for Sexual Harassment

The Annapoorneshwari Nagar police in Bengaluru have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Kannada social media influencer Manju, who is popularly known by his catchphrase ‘Amuku Dumuku Manja’. The influencer faces charges of sexual harassment, abusive behaviour, and criminal intimidation following an incident that occurred a few days prior to July 16, 2026.

The alleged incident took place during a promotional event at a pub, where Manju had reportedly consumed alcohol before behaving inappropriately with a female server. According to the complaint filed with the police, the influencer held the female server's hand, pulled her towards him, and asked her ‘what her rate was’.

The complainant further alleged that Manju targeted another unnamed female victim at the venue, forcing her to take a selfie with him. When she refused to comply with his request, the influencer allegedly verbally abused her using obscene language.

The confrontation escalated further after a video documenting the incident was posted on social media. The complainant alleged that after the video was published, Manju called them directly and issued death threats. Additionally, Manju's mother is also accused of calling the complainant and verbally abusing them.

Based on these allegations, the Annapoorneshwari Nagar police registered the FIR under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The registered charges against the influencer include BNS Sections 74, 79, 352, 75(1), 75(2), 75(3), and 351.

Police officers investigating the case stated that the allegations are currently being thoroughly investigated by the department. They added that further legal action will be taken against the accused based on the findings of the ongoing inquiry.
